"Be Mine" pincushion & abc WIP!

Back to freebies!!! When i've seen this one i had to stitch it, think it will go nicely with the Valentine freebie that was finished earlier. Isn't it lovely!
You can find the free chart here. Thanks so much Tanya for sharing this lovely chart. I've used one of the GAST thread but can't remember the name of it right now.

As it's the end of the month, time to share the first part of the Rose Alphabet i am doing with Tinna. The leaves took lots of time thought i am not going to make the first part for this month but glad it's done! For February, i'll move on to the lower left side, looks like it is not so much to do. I am kind of glad as hubby will be home third week of february. He's away for 5 weeks this time instead of 4 weeks.

On one of the yahoo groups(I Love Cross Stitching) i am in, we are doing an ornament SAL every month. At the end of each month a winner will be pick out and will receive a small prize from me. Something that is already completed like a scissor fob, floss ring tag....Here's a couple of biscornu scissor fobs i've just completed so the first winner this month can choose which one she would like. The dark pink one is a freebie from "The Floss Box" but the green one is also a freebie but just can't remember anymore where i've found it.

Your visit and nice comments are very much appreciated! Thank you so much!!!

Bouncing Baby Boy!

Thought you've all have enough with all the freebies i've finished recently, so here's not a freebie for a change, though i still have a couple of freebie finishes but not yet completed into something.
I really like this design, isn't it so CUTE, i've stitched it for the third time now.
When i went to bed last tuesday night i was so excited because one of my siter who is living in Canada shared her good news that she's 2 months pregnant after been trying for nearly two years. Woke up the next day with a message from my mobile that one of our friend gave birth that night, a week early than was expected. Excitement continues! So when the kids left for school and in between housechores i started stitching the design for the card. They live on the mainland and she's with the baby still in the hospital. This morning after instructing the kids for their lunch break and both off to school i went to the ferry. I was able to catch the morning visit at the hospital, which was only an hour.
Here's a couple of pictures taken, isn't he a cutie!!

Been working on and off with the last series for the needlerolls. Just finished stitching the January serie and i still have to do February till May. I think i will try to do one each month.

I've subscribed to a couple of U.K magazines for a few years, and i am going to miss them now as i didn't renew any this year. Can't afford it anymore, hopefully someday...
Anyway, any ideas how to keep the magazines. Dou you keep the whole magazine or cut them and arrange it by themes or seasons?
I really have to start sorting here and as you can see on the picture i can't keep it that way or else it does need lots of boxes, i am sure hubby won't be happy with it. Please, any opinions are welcome.

It will be a busy and fun weekend here, Grace friends are coming for sleep over, so there will be four girls, while Chris goes to one of his friends. I will be out with friends(saturday evening) to the village hall to watch the yearly show played by a group of villagers. Afterwards, i think there's a band so it will be fun!

Thank you all so much for visiting my blog especially to those who take the time to leave me a comment. I do appreciate them so much. Hope everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Snowman fob & b-day goodies!

The third and the last snowman i think. Isn't it a cutie! Again, found this one while surfing some of the blogs. It is a freebie at Sylvia's blog. Actually, i wasn't planning to stitch this one so soon but when it started snowing last saturday and i made a mistake with a Valentine freebie i was working which needed some frogging i set it aside and picked the snowman instead.
***you can click on all pictures to enlarge, if you want***
See these wonderful goodies? I know Julianne sent something for my birthday as she had mentioned it earlier but i didn't know these lots. I was really speechless when i opened it yesterday. I feel somewhat guilty because Julianne had asked a few ideas of what i would like knowing it's difficult to get stitch goodies around here so i mentioned some, now she almost bought all i've mentioned. Thank you ever so much, Julianne. You are so generous! Hope you get my message yesterday.
I am so excited with the charts i've started one early this evening, i don't have any of the given GA shaker threads on the chart so i just picked what come close to the picture of the design.

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who come and visit my blog. All your comment are very special to me.

Home Sweet Home finishes!

I was sorting my documents, trying to delete some pictures and came across quite some pictures of finishes that weren't shared last year. Finished these sometime in September, took pictures at once instead of ironing it first.
Thought to finish them off into pillows but i have my doubts now. Anyaway, it will have to wait till we are done with the renovation. Our house is quite old and need a huge renovation and the planning are on the go. We received the approvement of the city hall last December so we are now looking or getting opinions from a few contractors for the whole price. We do hope it will be this year but there's a lot to arrange....

Finished this piece a few days ago for a Round Robin. It's now on the way to the U.S. Ginny's theme was birdhouses, hope she'll like what i've stitched.

Your visit and nice comments are very much appreciated! Thank you so much!!!
Happy weekend to all!!!

"Valentine" pincushion!

I've seen this one finished by Irene last weekend and love it, so in between the bigger projects i work on this one too. And just finish it off into a simple pincushion.
Isn't it visiting blogs are very tempting for wanting or starting new ones. Oh, before i forget it is a freebie from Primitive Bettys.
Anyway, here's my progress so far with the Prairie Schooler Design. I am enjoying stitching this one that it is a bit difficult to set it aside for others....but i have too!

...see, i have to work in on this design! This is a SAL with Tinna(no blog). And i was the one who set up the parts, divided into four, so we will be finished by the end of April. I started on the right side corner with the leaves and oh my...i didn't realise this block will take quite some hours to get through. I'm afraid i won't finish my first part by the end of January. We'll see, i'll show a progress picture by then.

Before i end, would like to share a couple of pictures of some birthday goodies i received lately.
This one all the way from Singapore! Such a wonderful surprise, thanks so much, Jackie!
And another lovely surprise from Karen(no blog) in the U.K. Look at these beautiful threads, many many thanks Karen!

Thanks so much to all of you for the kind comments and i sure appreciate your visits. I hope everyone's having a great start to the week!

"Love" scissor fob!

"Love" scissor fob
Plum Pudding NeedleArt design
32ct linen
DMC threads

The night before hubby leave for work, that was tuesday evening, we decided i will drive him to where the ship is anchored. Because there wasn't much change with the weather and the roads, in some areas are quite dangerous-slippery i am not comfortable to drive back alone. But if he'll take the public transport, he has two heavy baggages, first to the ferry, then take the bus to the other side and then to the train, then take a taxi to bring him to the harbour. It is not efficient at all and it is freezing outside. I did drove the car last monday though just here on the island as it is my very first time in this kind of weather, still some roads with snow especially in the villages but the main roads are quite clear. It went fine so that is why i offered to bring him back. It's more than an hour drive after the ferry. I am really glad when i got back home safely in the afternoon.
Came to check in mails and saw this freebie posted at one of the yahoo groups. Made a copy and settled myself on the couch and stitched and stitched...I thought to go out to go and look for Chris as they went skating after school but my stomach aches, probably because i had skipped breakfast and just had lunch at 2pm.
Finished the heart freebie too. I had used one of the hand dyed threads of Crescent colours and love it. I hope Tinna will like the block too when she get it.

I have seen a couple of small winter designs that i like to start but thought to work on Spring ones instead. So i went in search fo an appropriate design and found this one. I started this last year, what you see on the picture was stitched early last year and set aside...& and forgotten! I hope to work on it soon. Wonder if i can finish it in time for Spring...?
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who come and visit my blog. All your comment are very special to me.

Silly Snowquake ornament & Kids party!

Still white everywhere here which really motivates me to stitch anf finished this one but i think this is the last for now! This design is a freebie of Erynne which is still available at her blog site. Used the same fabric from the previous snowman. Isn't it another cutie!!! (((you can clickon all pictures to enlarge if you want)))

I think these pictures says it all over our outing yesterday for our son Chris and his friend Mels with their joint birthday parties. We had booked it at one of the game centre at the mainland a few weeks ago. We were afraid we might cancel it as they expected quite bad with the roads because of the snow but atleast it wasn't that bad. Today was pretty dangerous though, just seen on the local news one of the busses slipped off the road and into a ditch.

The children had lots of fun!! Both parents had enjoyed the outing too. We've become friends because of our kids more than four years now. So glad we get along very well, Mels Mum and i ussually goes for walks once a week or just for a cup of coffee and chat. We always help each other if needed especially for the children when one is off somewhere. Having no family here of my own i am very thankful having good friends here.

Before i end, here's the winner of my birthday giveaway...so sorry it took a while, i always forgot to note down the names...now the first time i asked hubby to pick one of the folded papers and the winner is....Edit! Congrats and please do send me your address info and will be off to you soon.
Thank you all so much for stopping by and all the kind comments.

Just heard from Shari last night that this ornament finally arrived, it took nearly six weeks!! But i am glad it wasn't lost.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog especially to those who take the time to leave me a comment. I do appreciate them so much. For those who had asked about if i am going to join in again next year for the dive... i don't know!!!

New Year's Dive 2010 (Nieuwjaarsduik 2010)

Well...well...well, we've made it!!!

Thought to share some pictures before turning in. We've been to a couple of friends this afternoon and was been cozy we came home later than we had expected. Feeling very tired now as it was late last night too, i think around 4AM when we went to bed, as we had unexpected friend who stopped by at 1:30am just after we came in as we spent about 45minutes watching for the fireworks here in the neighbourhood and hubby and the kids has some too.
((you can click on all pictures to enlarge if you want))

This is my first time to join in while hubby and Chris there 2nd time and Grace, her 3rd time! I did noticed there were not so many participants compared to last year though lots and lots of spectators around. Preparations before joining in to the group for going into the water went well but waiting for the GO signal to go wasn't fun as we aren't wearing our slipper's, the sand was very very cold. When we finally run to the water side my aim is to go fast and dip in and run back out of the water. Water was really cold and thought i can't move my body anymore but i did manage to get out and the feeling wasn't terrible as i had expected. It wasn't so cold anymore except my feet and fingers so i took the time to dress. I am glad one of my SIL was there to help Chris as i am not that quick with my fingers at that moment.
Here's a picture of my sister-in-law with Chris, hubby and SIL's hubby. Before leaving the house hubby called them if one of them will come to the beach to help out as the one i had expected to come and help us went to another beach to help her daughter for the dive. Yes, there were 3 different places or beaches that this so called "Nieuwjaar's Duik"is being held. My SIL said, i am totally CARZY to go along with the rest of my family to go for the dive...oh well, hubby's proud i did! And sure i am too!! So glad as you can see on the pictures the weather's clear, bright and sunny and no wind. The temperature is around 3 degrees, while the sea water temperature is around 6 degrees.

I hope everyone is enjoying a great start to 2010!

March ornament..

...just finished it today! Another design from the Just Cross Stitch Christmas ornaments magazine of last year. Still have a few I would lik...
